WarStone Tournament Series Overview
WarStone Tournament events will be held in the United States and Canada starting February 2010. WarStone events include local retail tournaments, regional tournaments and an invitational Championship Tournament to be held in Indianapolis at GENCON 2010, this August.

The Tournament series is separated into two age groups; 8-12 years and 13 years and older. A ranking and ratings system will be used to track your results allowing you to follow your progress on the road to the championship.

The $50,000 prize purse is broken into two segments; $25,000 for the local retail and region tournaments and $25,000 for the championship. Prizes for the tournament series includes game systems, laptop computers, iPods and others accessories and WarStone product. Prizes will depend on participation.

All tournament events will be played on official WarStone table top battle arenas. Official rules found in the basic WarStone rule book, along with organized play rule amendments for the table top battle arena, and supplemental tournament and disqualification rules will apply. Tournament matches use both six minute timed matches and unlimited time matches, as specified in the tournament rules.

Locations for retail and regional tournaments and tournament rules will be posted on the WarStone website (www.warstone.com). All league players must sign up with Duncan Toys on the WarStone website to become a WarStone member. Your member number must be included on each punch card in order to be eligible to receive promotional items.

WarStone Retail Tournament Circuit Program
Individual retail stores will host 3 tournaments events spread over a 4-5 month period allowing players to improve and perfect their skills on an advanced level. Players can improve their rating and ranking though winning and losing WarStone matches in Duncan sanctioned events.

You can qualify for an invitation to the championship by playing at your local retail tournaments without attending any of the regional tournaments. However, regional events are held after the completion of the retail tournament circuit program. Final rankings will be determined after the final regional tournament program has ended.

WarStone Regional Tournament Program
Duncan will hold approximately five regional tournaments allowing you to build your ratings and rankings to help gain entry into the Championship. Participation in regional tournament events is not required to be invited to the championship event. Locations of the regional tournaments are to be announced.

WarStone Demo Tournament
Duncan staged a demo tournament at Samurai Comics in Phoenix, AZ, during the month of December (2009) to test the game system and table top battle arena. The one day event attracted over 40 players who competed for prizes. With ten table top battle arenas set up, the competition was intense and fast moving. A video of the tournament can be seen on the WarStone website home page.

Quote from Mike Banks, Owner of Samurai Comics:

“Samurai Comics was very excited to be the first store in the country to host a WarStone tournament,” says Mike Banks, owner of Samurai Comics. “We were confident that the concept of a collectible marble game would be a big hit with our player base, and WarStone delivered in a big way,” he adds. he turn out was amazing. The crossover between players of other games was tremendous-- we had CCG players, Miniature Game players, and even plenty of people who had never played in a tournament setting before participate.

“Our players immediately began raving about the look of the stones. The embedded stones in particular were a big hit,” he continues.

“The players loved the head-to-head battles. Unlike other gaming tournaments, WarStone brought a new element, transforming the tournament play into a spectator sport--crowds of people gathered around each battlefield to cheer on the game in progress.

“After the tournament was over those who played were anxious to hone their skills for the next battle, and those who watched were ready to pick up their own WarStones and learn the game.

“WarStone has got the whole package-- cool, collectible pieces, exciting tournament play, and a great variety of products designed to deliver us new players, and to keep existing players coming back for more.”
